Join us as we take to the streets for the
37th Annual Sacramento Take Back the Night!

The 2016 Rally and March will be an evening of
remembrance, celebration, and action to stand against
all forms of sexual and gender-based violence.

When: October 8th (Second Saturday)
Start Time: 5:30pm | March through Midtown: 8:00pm
Location: Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc.
– 2020 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

This is a FREE event – open to anyone interested in
taking a stand to end sexual and gender-based violence.

The Resource Fair will kick-off the evening with information and
resource tables staffed by our local co-sponsors, and will
continue throughout the Rally to provide information about the
crucial services offered in our community.

Beginning at 5:30pm we have a PHENOMENAL Rally line-up;
featuring emcee Violeta Gonzales,
Aztec blessing by Danzantes,
Music by Veins to Wires;
Performances by Shelly Leigh and Fenix Drum;
Speakers, including Tanya Faison of Black Lives Matter Sacramento,
Pedro Elias of Planned Parenthood,
Michael Garcia of Brown Berets de SacrAztlán,
Fatima Garcia, Labor Council for Latin American Advancement,
Michelle Huey of My Sister’s House,
and community activist Maile Hampton;
Spoken Word by Isaac Torres and Kamila LaShaun;
Survivor Speakout
Community Art Projects, including an affirmation tent by Sac State’s Women’s Resource Center and Advocates for Black Feminism, body-positive performance art, sign and button-making,
kids activities, a photo booth, voter registration, and more!

 At 8pm we will take to the streets in protest – a tradition

that has taken place in Sacramento since 1979!

Come out, bring your friends and family for an incredible night of activism, energy, and commitment to end all forms of
sexual and gender-based violence!
